AFG Fire Prevention and Safety

Lots of you have used the AFG fire grants to meet your basic equipment needs, like bunker gear and SCBA. But AFG also does two other programs, and the Fire Prevention and Safety program is open now.

What can you do with Fire Prevention grants?

Examples of the types of fire prevention projects that are supported by FP&S include smoke alarm installation, fire prevention and public safety education campaigns, juvenile fire setter interventions, media campaigns, and arson prevention and awareness programs.

If your department is interested in one of these type of projects, see the guidelines at the Fire Grant Support site. The program opens each year, and the current application deadline is October 23, 2009.
