Preserve historic records

National Endowment for the Humanities Preservation Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions
Deadline: May 1, 2012 for projects in 2013

Hutch 176
Proper records storage
can be expensive.
Many small town governments may have historic collections records that actually qualify as humanities materials. Libraries, museums and even town records offices are eligible. The types of materials may include:
  • books and journals
  • archives and manuscripts
  • prints and photos
  • architectural and cartographic records
  • decorative and fine art objects
  • digital materials
The cost of professional conservators can be covered with this grant. Other covered costs include general assessment of collections, purchase of preservation supplies, and specialized training.

Small governments that have never applied to NEH before are "especially encouraged" to apply.
