Monsanto has an interesting project this fall with $2500 grants available. Entries are due by December 31, 2010.There will be one winner for each county, from the counties on the eligibility list. In Oklahoma, these counties are eligible: Garfield, Grant, Jackson, Kay, Leflore, Ottawa, Texas, Tillman and Wagoner.
A qualifying farmer makes the entry and nominates a charity. If the farmer lives in a city of 30,000, the grant must go to an agriculture related organization – 4-H, FFA, food pantry, etc. If the farmer lives in a city or town under 30,000, the grant must fit within one of two priority areas: (i) Community Enrichment – hospitals, community centers, schools, ballparks, fire departments, etc.; or (ii) Youth in Agriculture – 4-H and FFA.
