For the first time, mini-grants are available to fund Kick Butts Day events.
The $500 or $1000 grants will be used to support youth-planned events to encourage their peers to be tobacco-free. There are no special eligibility requirements for organizations, so this could be used by any number of community groups.
The sponsors are looking for a combination of creativity, youth involvement in planning and implementing events, detailed description, a strong communications/media plan, and demonstrated financial need. Educational items, materials, and local transportation are among the eligible costs.
