Broadband access grants

USDA Rural Development Community Connect grants offer help bringing broadband transmission service to communities under 20,000 in population. The community cannot have broadband transmission service currently.

City and town governments are eligible to apply. The funds may be used to build the broadband infrastructure and to build a community access center for free public access to broadband.

Informational webinars are being offered, and the next is on June 7.

Applications are due June 18, 2012.
