USDA Rural Development Housing Preservation Grants are available to repair or rehabilitate existing housing for low and very low income rural residents in towns of 20,000 or fewer.

City and town governments are eligible to apply. The funds are used to repair or rehab individual housing and rental properties. The government can make the funds available to residents as grants, loans, or other comparable assistance. Funds must be used within a two year period.
Applications are made through the local Rural Development office.
